I talk about beauty, I talk about splendor, I am the voice that speaks loudly, a horn that howls easily and a bell that rings softly. I speak of a crown, I talk about mama land, I talk about Africa.
Oooh, wait I wish this was for today, I hate to say it out loud but probably mother nature is angry with us. Water that used to bring life and prosperity is now flowing angrily sweeping away everything and destroying lives. Tears of the homeless are as much as the floods that destroyed their shelters. Grandfather’s net used to catch fish when everything was still in place but in a blink of an eye, floods swept plastics, bottles and soil, used them as armors and invaded the marine kingdom killing many creatures that dwell in it.
Where floods came up with erosions, pollution and disturbance of life, droughts were not left behind. The sunlight which is essential for photosynthesis is now causing heat stress, evaporating even the tiniest hope of surviving temperature-based diseases. Leaves of trees that were our medicines are all dry and useless, forests that were called our lungs are now deforested, grasses that used to feed our livestock are now in shortage, songs of laughter and joy from those whose bellies were once filled with food are now replaced with voices of grumping stomachs as hunger took over.
It’s said that young people live on hope and old people live on remembrance but this saying no longer applies. There has been a bit of change. I am afraid that the future generations, I mean the youth of today, are going to live in remembrance of what fresh water, fresh air, and most of all wealthy life was like. It is so frightening that if we don’t stand up and do something, life will pass us by. Africa is our mama land, our planet, our heritage, our future and we can preserve it.
Let you and I use the energy we really need, and prevent our mama’s nostrils from greenhouse gases. Let you and I learn and understand the importance of this to us all and let the whole Africa know so we can stand together through this. Where there is a will there's a way and we will find it. Mama would be very proud if we used the recycling process! Why throw plastics away when we know a way they could be recycled and used back!? What if we all go green!? What if we walk where possible and use green four wheeled horses to carry us only when it is necessary!? What if we only take from nature what we really need instead of overexploiting? What if we clothe a large part of our land with trees!? Industries should adopt a controlled way of emitting few fumes so as to preserve this air we breathe, and those in charge of packaging must see this as a serious matter that need their full concern, biodegradable packaging materials, or any other that can be reused may be used to replace plastics packaging materials. In this battle traders are not left behind; they must be responsible for disposal of any waste in their field and make sure they don’t cause any sort of pollution.
Nature too has her way of defending herself, but only when we choose to collaborate. Among those tiniest organisms that can’t be seen with naked eye, there is one which can help us handle our most malicious pollutant. Ideonella sakaiensis is a bacterium which can consume plastics. Adopting a way of using enzymes from this bacterium to decompose plastics can be of great importance in the recycling process and in that way, we can save water bodies as well as soil. Once water bodies are saved, creatures that dwell in there can be saved too. Once soil is saved, fertility can be restored and we can say bye to hunger.
Everyone’s voice matters, everyone’s contribution does too, but what if there are some people who don't see things the way we do? Mama land needs this to be taken seriously, she needs some bravest people to take the lead, people who will lead us to silencing the climate crisis, people who will jealously protect what we have left.
Conclusively, Climate crisis is really a malicious babbler who needs to be silenced. It has destroyed most of our natural resources, leaving everything in chaos. By joining our hands, we can put a zipper on its mouth. Adopting different ways like recycling using microorganisms like bacteria, using biodegradable packaging materials, controlling fumes that industries emit in the atmosphere, planting as many trees as possible and strictly protecting our natural resources which are left can help us out.
Working on this requested me the help my friend Blandine, you may find her work on https://mon--stylo.blogspot.com/2020/01/perfect-imperfections.html?m=1
