YOUR VOICE MATTERS

It mattered since day one of your life. You have let it out in a cry and everyone cheered and applauded since it was a good sign that you were alive! The first time you pronounced your first word, hearts were filled with warmth. Today, I have chosen to talk about voice since it is one of our weapons that we underestimate.  I want to talk about voice as something which matters and which, once used conveniently can bring the best out of people and save lives. There are various areas of our lives where we need our voice. Do you remember the first time when someone asked you with all charms and interest what your name was? You responded with your voice and maybe a relationship started from that. Do you remember the time you saved yourself by raising your voice? Maybe someone accused you with something you didn’t do and by raising your voice, you saved yourself and others. Contrary with that, everyone can count like two or more times in their lives when they have witnessed things falling apart just because they chose to keep quiet and to hold back their voices. I understand that there are times when holding our voices is important than letting them out. I remember one time when I warned someone about the “hell which was about breaking loose on her” and She misunderstood me and accused me of gossips. As you can imagine, I decided to keep quiet and to never intervene in someone’s business. From that time on I have chosen to use my voice in another way which I wish to share with you now. That way is saying what you mean and meaning what you say. It involves making yourself clear without saying too much or making sure that you are copied loud and clear without having to explain yourself too much. Your voice matters and you don’t have to waste it explaining yourself where it is not necessary, arguing, insulting people, gossiping and cursing. Whenever possible, open your mouth and let out your voice to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves, compliment people, encourage them and tell them that they matter. Let your voice be a source of courage and comfort rather than a source of rumors and heartbreak.
